If the taxpayer submitted their return documents to you via the TaxesToGo app, and after preparing the return in TaxSlayer Pro you exit the return to the Receipt Menu and do not see the menu line Send Documents To Be Signed, check that the e-mail address in the Personal Information menu in the tax return matches the e-mail address that the taxpayer used in the app.
The best way to verify the e-mail address the taxpayer used in the app is to look at the TaxesToGo web report. If you aren't familiar with Web Reports, learn more here.
Run the TaxesToGo web report for the current year and for your EFIN. Locate the taxpayer's record and note their e-mail address. Compare that address with the e-mail address in the Personal Information menu their tax return created from the data submitted via the app. If the addresses are different, do the following steps:
- Correct the e-mail address in the tax return to match the address used in the app.
- Exit the return, and exit the Receipt Menu.
- Reopen the return.
- Exit the return. In the Receipt Menu, you should now see the menu line Send Documents To Be Signed.
