If you're a TaxSlayer Pro Premium subscriber, you can e-mail the Client Organizer to your client using PaperCut. By sending the organizer using PaperCut e-mail rather than your company or personal e-mail, it is sent encrypted, requiring a password to open it, thus securing your client's tax information.
To use PaperCut to store or e-mail documents for a client, you need to have created a tax return for the client. Creating a return requires only entering the taxpayer's filing status and personal information. You can enter more beyond those things if you wish, but those things are enough to create the return.
Once you have created a client's individual tax return, you can print the organizer. See here if you're unfamiliar with the process.
When printing the organizer, be sure to click Yes to the question "Print Return to PDF?". Answering Yes to this question saves a copy of the organizer in PaperCut. The organizer file name includes the taxpayer's masked SSN plus the date and time it was printed.
After printing the organizer and saving a copy in PaperCut, follow these steps:
- Open PaperCut.
- In the left side menu select E-Mail, then Compose.
- Locate the taxpayer and double-click their entry in the list.
- Select the first File Attachment drop down menu and click the organizer.
- If desired, change the file name in the ZIP File Name field. To avoid a transmission error, use only letters, numbers, and spaces in the file name.
- Enter a password in the Encryption Password field. The password must be at least eight characters in length and include at least one upper-case character, one lower-case character, one number, and one of the four special characters ! @ $ %.
- If desired, change or add a subject in the Subject field.
- If desired, change or add a message in the Message field.
When finished, click the blue SEND button
