In TaxSlayer ProWeb, a new return in the current year may load to a blank page if there is a problem with the same taxpayer's return in the prior year.
To diagnose and fix this problem, first deactivate the current year's return.
Then investigate either of these possibilities:
Missing data in Personal Information
- In the prior year client list, open this taxpayer's return.
- Look for missing required information in the Personal Information section, e.g., phone number.
If there was missing information, once you have exited the return go back to the current year's client list and start the return over.
Duplicate Return
- In the prior year client list, filter the list by this taxpayer's SSN to determine if there are any duplicates.
- If there is a duplicate return, deactivate the duplicate return that has not been transmitted (in this situation one usually indicates it was transmitted while the other shows it is in progress).
If there was a duplicate return that has now been deactivated, return to the current year's client list and start the return over.
