The TaxesToGo mobile app allows your clients to get their taxes done via their mobile device. Here's how it works:
- The taxpayer downloads the app onto their phone and creates an account through the app.
- They enter their personal information (SSN, name, address, and spouse and dependent info), then take photos of any documents you will need to complete their tax return.
- They submit the info to you. You retrieve the info and complete their tax return.
- You send the return back to them to review and sign. Once signed, it's ready to be electronically filed.
The app includes a chat feature for your and your client that's fully integrated into your TaxSlayer Pro software. TaxesToGo is available for both Android and iOS and can be found in Google Play or the Apple App Store.
Your clients can download the app from Google Play or the Apple App Store, or they can use your referral link to download the app with your branding. What's the difference?
- When a client uses your branded app, their submission is visible in your TaxesToGo queue in the tax program. All you need to do to get started on their return is click the submission.
- When a client uses the generic, non-branded app, they need to provide you with their e-mail address and 6-digit "tax code". You will need to key in that info in the tax program to start their return.
To make your and your clients' lives simpler, create a link they can use to download and install TaxesToGo branded with your name and logo.
Creating a branded TaxesToGo app
From inside your Account Hub, you will see TaxesToGo as shown below.
Once you've done that, you will be guided to the TaxesToGo configuration screen. From here, you can choose your Profile Name (generally your company name but can be anything you wish), choose a color theme, and optionally upload your own logo. As you make these changes, you will see a preview to the right.
Upon clicking SAVE, you will see your Referral Link generated. Send this link to your customers via e-mail or text message. You can also put it on your web page. When your clients download the app via this link, they will be downloading the app with your branding on it.
For Additional Locations
If your tax business has multiple locations, you will need to setup the TaxesToGo configuration for each office you have. The referral link from the TaxesToGo configuration above is only for your main office. To set up configuration for each of your additional locations, go into Location Manager and choose Manage Locations. From the list of locations, you will see a phone icon. This will open that location's TaxesToGo configuration window.
