If you opted in to offering the GO2bank Visa debit card to your clients, Santa Barbara TPG should have sent you a "table tent" with instructions for your clients for how to set up their GO2bank account:
Since you don't have physical card stock, your client setting up their account before or while you are working on their tax return is necessary so they can provide you with the GO2bank account number to enter into TaxSlayer Pro. The table tent includes a QR code they will scan with their mobile phone to begin the process of setting up their account.
Your client must have a mobile phone and an e-mail address to sign up, and when signing up they need to use the same name and address as on their tax return.
The sign-up process can be completed in minutes. Here are the steps your client will follow:
- Scan the QR code with their mobile phone to take them to the GO2bank website. (This QR code tells GO2bank they are your client, thus enabling you to receive Santa Barbara's incentive for signing them up for a Fast Cash Advance.)
- Open a GO2bank account on their mobile phone.
- Give you the 14-digit GO2bank account number provided to them at the end of the process.
In TaxSlayer Pro, enter the account number when prompted after marking their tax return for electronic filing and indicating Santa Barbara RT card as the method of receiving their refund.
GO2bank will send your client their Visa debit card in the mail. They can also download the GO2bank mobile app to their phone and use the app to manage their tax refund.
