If a North Carolina passthrough return is not in sync with the federal return, it will reject with code NCD403-1590:

If you print Form D-403 and look at Part 6 you will see that the bottom line total does not equal the sum of the numbers above it. Most likely a change was made on the federal return and the North Carolina return was not opened to update it.
To resolve this reject, open the North Carolina return. To confirm the problem is resolved, print the North Carolina return and examine Part 6. If the bottom line equals the sum of the numbers above it, you're ready to retransmit.
