When attempting to mark a Virginia Corporation tax return for electronic filing, you may receive the following messages in a window headed "Reasons why Virginia return can NOT be filed electronically for [name]":
NOL Deduction amount in Form 500FED must equal Federal amount in Heading Information.
To correct the information contained within the return and remove the e-file block, from the main menu of the Virginia corporate return, select:
- Heading Information
- Was a NOL claimed in Fed Taxable Income - Select YES and fill in all applicable fields within the menu
Select Attach PDF for Federal NOL - Attach a PDF copy of the federal form being filed that shows the calculation of the Federal NOL
