In TaxSlayer ProWeb, if you are completing Form 8962 Part IV due to the taxpayer allocating the marketplace health insurance policy with one or more other taxpayers, but you don't enter the info for at least one allocation, the return will receive this reject when it is electronically filed:
Reject Code: F8962-313 | Category: Missing Data | Severity: Reject
If Form 8962, Line 9 'SharePolicyMarriedAltCalcInd' has a choice of "Yes" indicated, then Line 30a 'PolicyNum' must have a value or (Line 35a or Line 36a 'FamilySizeCnt') must have a value greater than zero.
To correct this reject in the individual income tax return in ProWeb, from the left side menu of the tax return select:
- Health Insurance - Select Continue in the window with the health care question, then Continue again in the window verifying household members.
- In the menu headed "Allocation 1", enter the information needed: the policy number, the SSN of the other person the policy is being shared with, the start and stop months the policy was shared, and this taxpayer's allocations for the premium, the SLCSP, and the advance PTC.
If a second allocation needs to be entered, click Add Another Allocation and add its info.
Ensure the Form 1095-A amounts you enter represent this taxpayer's allocation. For example, if this taxpayer's allocation is 50% during a given allocation period, for a Form 1095-A month and column within the allocation period the amount you will enter will be [ Form 1095-A amount ] x 50%.
If during the allocation period this taxpayer's allocation is 100%, you will enter the Form 1095-A amounts as they are, and if this taxpayer's allocation is 0%, you won't enter any amount, since [ Form 1095-A amount ] x 0% = $0.
