Indiana Reject Code: W2-027
The wage statements locality code, LocalityNm is invalid. Values such as VARIOUS or TOTAL are incorrect.
An Indiana return will reject with code W2-027 if a 2-digit county code is not specified in the locality section of the W-2. Sometimes employers will put words such as VARIOUS or TOTAL in the locality field instead of the county code.
To fix this reject, for each W-2 with Indiana locality information, ensure only a 2-digit county code has been entered in the locality field. After correcting the W-2(s), reopen the Indiana tax return for the change to flow in.
