When a taxpayer makes an automatic extension payment to the state of Michigan, the payment amount needs to be included on their Michigan tax return.
To enter the payment made with the Michigan extension on the Michigan individual income tax return in TaxSlayer Pro, from the Michigan Tax Return Menu select:
- Payments and Refundable Credit
- Michigan Estimated Tax and Extensions
- Amount Paid with Extension
