When attempting to mark a New Jersey Corporate tax return for electronic filing, you may receive this message in a window headed "Reasons why New Jersey return can NOT be filed electronically":
Controlling Entity is Required.
To remove this block, from the NJ CBT-100 Main Menu select:
- General Questionnaire
- Majority of stock owned by other corp - Select Yes.
- In the Controlled Corporations Information window, select the entry that is missing information in the "Controlling Entity" column and enter the Controlling Entity.
