In TaxSlayer Pro, the States Report produces a CSV file listing all the completed individual state returns along with certain state-specific data points of interest.
The database used by the States Report is created when you select the report from the menu. Depending on the number of completed returns in your client list the creation process can take a few seconds to a minute or more, and you will see an indicator that it's working at the bottom left of the program window. When the indicator disappears, the database is finished being created.
When the database is finished, click OK, then reselect the report. A Windows File Explorer window will appear allowing you to save the CSV file to the directory of your choice. You can then separately open a Windows File Explorer window, navigate to the directory you saved the report in, and double-click it to open it.
To run the States Report, from the Quick Menu of TaxSlayer Pro select
- Reports
- Additional Reports
- States Report
Note: When opening the CSV file in your spreadsheet program, if the program asks if you'd like it to "perform the following data conversions in this file", listing "Remove leading zeros", click Don't Convert.
