Georgia allows a military retirement Income subtraction up to $35,000 as follows:
- Up to $17,500 for taxpayers under age 62
- Up to an additional $17,500 for taxpayers with more than $17,500 in Georgia earned income.
To subtract military retirement income from the Georgia individual tax return in TaxSlayer ProWeb, from the Georgia Return menu select:
- Subtractions from Income
- Georgia Military Retirement Exclusion
- In the field headed "Enter adjustment to the amount pulled from the federal", enter the full military retirement income as a positive number, and any addition Georgia source earned income.
- In the field headed "Enter any other earned GA income", enter the amount of earned income included in the federal return other than wages.
