Form 8275 is used by taxpayers and tax return preparers to disclose items or positions, except those taken contrary to a regulation, that are not otherwise adequately disclosed on a tax return to avoid certain penalties. It can also be used for disclosures relating to preparer penalties for understatements due to unreasonable positions or disregard of rules. To add the Form 8275 to the individual tax return in TaxSlayer ProWeb, from the Federal Section of the return select:
- Miscellaneous Forms
- Other Miscellaneous Forms
- Disclosure Statement/Regulation Disclosure Statement - Select Form 8275, then select CONTINUE.
- Foreign Entity Information and Information About Pass-Through Entity - If the reason Form 8275 is being filed relates to a foreign entity and/or a passthrough entity, select and complete this section as needed.
- Disclosure Statement Items - Enter here the details of the item needing disclosure.
