When preparing Form 1120-S in TaxSlayer Pro, if you disable automatic distribution in the Schedule K menu you will see a Yes/No question with a warning:
Do you want to automatically distribute schedule K information?
If you turn distribution off, the K-1 statements
for net rental income will no longer be generated.
If the return includes rental income on Form 8825, when automatic distribution is set to Yes each shareholder's Schedule K-1 includes a supporting statement detailing the net rental real estate income for each property. The shareholder uses this information when completing Schedule E in their individual tax return.
The warning indicates that if automatic distribution is set to No, the supporting statement won't be produced.
