In TaxSlayer ProWeb, when setting the EFIN in the E-File section, you will encounter an error if the Customer ID for the EFIN doesn't match what it should be:
The Customer ID for EFIN xxxxxx does not match our records. Please disable this ERO and create a new ERO Record with your correct Customer ID and EFIN.
The Customer ID is a unique 32-character alphanumeric code we have associated with the EFIN in our database. The EFIN and Customer ID MUST match before you can electronically file tax returns.
To correct a Customer ID / EFIN mismatch error, exit the return. Then, from the Federal Section select:
- Configuration
- ERO Setup - Click to edit the current EFIN.
The Customer ID field at the top of the menu will be grayed out. Select the Continue button at the bottom of the menu to validate the field. If the validation fails, the field will unlock.
To obtain your correct Customer ID:
- Log in to Account Hub
- Select Account Information from the left side navigation pane. Your Customer ID will be displayed at the top of the Account Information section. Copy and paste the Customer ID from Account Hub in to the Customer ID field in the ERO Setup menu in the ProWeb software.
- Select Continue.
