Occasionally, a taxpayer who will be applying for an ITIN with their tax return receives a W-2 from their employer with what appears to be a SSN as the Employee ID number.
In TaxSlayer ProWeb, you will enter the W-2 information as usual but you won't be able to input the Employee ID number on the W-2. Not being able to enter this number is not a problem since the return isn't e-fileable (due to the taxpayer not having an ITIN), and you'll include a paper copy of the W-2 with the mailed return. (Being able to enter the Employee ID number that's on the W-2 is only important for e-file purposes.)
