A college student who has transferred to a different institution during the year may receive two Forms 1098-T.
To enter multiple Forms 1098-T into TaxSlayer ProWeb, from the Federal Section of the tax return select:
- Deductions
- Credits
- Education Credits - If you're asked whether or not you have entered all income and adjustments, answer Yes.
- Select an Eligible Student - Select the eligible student from the list.
- Answer the two Yes/No Form 1098-T questions. (Note: If you need to return to these questions after having completed the remaining steps, you'll need to delete the educational institution(s) entered.)
- Enter the educational institution's name, address, and EIN.
- When finished entering the institution information, click the blue CONTINUE button.
- Enter the total tuition paid, grants and scholarships, those included on the Form 1098-Ts as well as any other expenses that qualify, click the blue CONTINUE button.
- Click +Add Another Institution and enter the next institution's name, address, and EIN.
- When finished entering the institutions, click the blue CONTINUE button.
- Answer the four qualifying questions to determine eligibility.
