A federal extension automatically extends the time to file the Missouri return if the taxpayer does not expect to owe additional tax. Attach a copy of the federal extension to the Missouri return when filed.
File Form MO-60, Application for Extension of Time to File, for an automatic six-month extension if the taxpayer expects to have tax due or needs a Missouri extension but not a federal extension. Include payment by the original due date of the return.
To access the Missouri Form M0-60, from the Missouri Return menu select:
- Miscellaneous Forms
- MO Extension Form (MO-60)
Note: Electronic filing is not supported for the state extension in ProWeb. The federal extension may be sent electronically, however the state extension will have to be mailed.
