An Arizona taxpayer must pay at least 90% of the current year's tax liability by April 15 to avoid an underpayment penalty. To receive an automatic extension to October 15, file Form 204, Application for Filing Extension.
To complete Form 204 in the individual tax return in TaxSlayer ProWeb, from the Arizona Return menu select:
- Miscellaneous Forms
- Form 204 - Extension
Arizona will also accept the federal extension for the period covered by the federal extension. To indicate that a federal extension was filed, from the Arizona Return menu select:
- Basic Information
- Select if you are filing under extension - From the dropdown menu select YES. This will check Form 140 box 82F indicating an extension was filed.
Note: Electronic filing is not supported for the state extension. It will have to be mailed.
