If a taxpayer contributes to a West Virginia college savings plan a portion of the contribution can be subtracted from income on the West Virginia return.
Contributions up to $16,000 per taxpayer per year ($32,000 for those married, filing jointly) are eligible for a West Virginia state income tax deduction.
