A portion of contributions to an Indiana529 Savings Plan can be taken as a credit on the Indiana individual income tax return.
Indiana taxpayers are eligible for a state income tax credit of 20% of contributions to an Indiana529 Direct account, up to $1,500 per year ($750 if married filing separately)
To enter contributions to the Indiana529 Direct Savings Plan in TaxSlayer ProWeb, from the Indiana Return menu select:
- Credits
- Schedule IN-529: Education Savings Plan - Indicate whether or not the taxpayer owns the account, then enter the account number and the amount(s) contributed to offset higher education expenses and/or K-12 expenses.
Note that a qualified account number is either 10, 11, or 16 digits long.
