If a taxpayer contributes to an Ohio 529 College Advantage Savings plan, a portion of the contribution can be subtracted from income on the Ohio individual income tax return. Contributions up to $4,000 per year, per beneficiary, are eligible for an Ohio state income tax deduction.
To enter the deductible portion of the contributions that were made to Ohio in TaxSlayer ProWeb, from the Ohio Return menu select:
- Subtractions from Income
- Enter Contributions to College Advantage 529 Savings plan or purchases of tuition credits - Enter the amount of contribution but no more than $4,000 per beneficiary.
