Subtractions from Income - If one of the Subtraction Code Boxes is equal to YY and subtraction amount is greater than 0, Unemployment Form 1099-G must be present and FAGI cannot exceed $100,000 for taxpayers with Married Filing Jointly, Head of Household, or Qualifying Widow(er) filing statuses or FAGI cannot exceed $75,000 for taxpayers with Single, Married Filing Separately, or Dependent filing statuses.
This reject occurs when state amounts have been specified on federal Form 1099-G but the state itself has not been specified. To correct this reject, from the Main Menu of the federal tax return select:
- Income
- Unemployment Compensation - Select the 1099-G and click Edit.
- State Taxes Paid to - Enter the 2-digit state abbreviation.
