If an extension has been granted by the IRS, Pennsylvania will grant an equivalent extension of up to six months. If you are electronically filing the Pennsylvania tax return, a copy of the federal extension will be attached, otherwise if you are paper filing the Pennsylvania tax return include a copy of the federal extension with the return.
If the taxpayer isn't filing a federal extension, file Form REV-276, Application for Extension of Time to File, to receive an automatic six-month extension. Extension payments must be mailed with a completed Form REV-276, however if paying by credit card or electronic funds transfer Form REV-276 is not required.
