Taxpayers making a tentative tax payment and/or wanting more time to file a Nebraska income tax return, must file a Nebraska Application for Automatic Extension, Form 4868N. This form is not necessary if a federal extension has been filed, and the taxpayer is not making payment or their return is being e-filed by a paid tax preparer. All approved extension requests will receive a six-month extension beyond the original due date.
