Idaho does not have a separate extension form for individual filers. Idaho allows an automatic extension to October 15 without filing an application if the taxpayer has paid at least 80% of the current year’s tax liability or 100% of the prior year’s tax liability. To avoid a late-penalty, use Form 51, Estimated Payment of Individual Income Tax, to make a payment.
To access Form 51 in TaxSlayer Pro, from the Idaho Tax Return Menu select:
- Penalty, Interest, Estimated Tax
- Idaho Estimated Payment Coupon
Note: Idaho does not accept Form 51 electronically. This form must be mailed.
