Desktop: How Do I Mark a New York Amended Return for Electronic Filing?

To mark a New York amended return for electronic filing in TaxSlayer Pro, first complete the amended return Form 201-X.

To complete Form 201-X, from the main menu of the New York state return select:

  • NY Amended Return
  • Form NY201X Menu

After completing the New York amended return, exit to the main menu of the New York return, then select:

  • Electronic Information Menu - Mark the return for e-file if you have not already done so.

The New York amended return will be sent electronically when the return is transmitted instead of the original New York return (Form IT-201). The following message will be displayed when exiting the New York state return:
