Desktop: How to attach a federal extension statement to a Wisconsin state return

In order to get an extension of time to file a Wisconsin individual tax return, taxpayers do not need to submit a request prior to filing their tax return. When filing the return, Wisconsin requests that a statement be attached to the return indicating which federal extension provision applies.

To attach the statement in TaxSlayer Pro, from the Wisconsin Tax Return Menu select:

  • Personal Information
  • Other Categories
  • Attach PDF of Federal Form 4868 (Extension) - Select YES.
