When creating an amended return in TaxSlayer ProWeb, the program fills in the Original column of Form 1040-X if two things are true:
- The original tax return was e-filed through ProWeb and accepted by the IRS (and thus we know what the original return looked like).
- The original return has been printed (and thus you have a copy to refer to in case of a problem).
If either of those things is not true, the program won't autofill the Original column and you will need to enter the original return's amounts in Form 1040-X.
