If you are having issues getting your Topaz Signature Pad to work within your office, here are some troubleshooting tips. We recommend checking each of the items below.
Configure the Topaz Signature Pad within Office Setup
Before you can use the Topaz Signature Pad within your office, you will need to set your office up to allow the signature pad to be used. Each office that plans to use the Topaz Signature Pad must do this step to see the feature available in the program.
From the Welcome Page of your ProWeb office select:
- Configuration
- Office Setup - Check the "Use Topaz Signature Pad" check box.
Install the SigWeb drivers
If you have selected "Use Topaz Signature Pad" within Office Setup, but you have not installed the SigWeb drivers, the program will prompt you to do so on the Submission page. On the last page of the return, you will see the message "Unable to communicate with SigWeb" and a link to download SigWeb directly from Topaz's website. You will need to download and install SigWeb in order to use the signature pad.
Note: If your office is using the Topaz Signature Pad, you only need to install the drivers on the computers that use the signature pad. The computers that do not use the Topaz Signature Pad can sign with the mouse instead.
If you are not using Topaz Signature Pad, but it's already set up
If your PC is set up to use the Topaz signature pad and the SigWeb drivers are installed but you aren't using it, to be able to sign with the mouse on the Submission page you will need to do the above steps in reverse: (1) uninstall the SigWeb drivers, then (2) uncheck "Use Topaz Signature Pad" in Office Setup.
