In TaxSlayer ProWeb, the fees you specify for each form in Fees Setup automatically pull into a tax return's invoice. You can view, and if allowed modify, the fees that have been charged for a return in the Fee Summary step of the e-file process at the end of the return.
To see and modify the fees charged in a return, navigate to E-file. The second step of the E-file process is the Fee Summary. You'll see the following fee-related information:
- Standard Fees - This is the sum of the Preparer Fee and Electronic Filing Fee, if either has been entered in the fields provided here.
- Calculated Preparer Fee - This is the sum of the fees specified in Fees Setup for the forms included in the return. This amount will be zero if no fees have been specified in Fees Setup.
- Preparer Fee - If you wish to enter a preparer fee to override the calculated amount, click the lock icon to the right of the entry field if it's locked to unlock the field, then enter the amount. If you're not able to unlock the field, you haven't been given permission to change this fee.
- Show Itemized Fees - Click this drop down menu to see what forms and custom fees have been included. This menu lists only the items but not the actual fee.
- Electronic Filing Fee - If you wish to enter an electronic filing fee, do that here.
Note: Fees cannot be modified after a return has been marked complete. If you are unable to modify the fees, either the return has been marked complete or you do not have permission to change fees based on the Role to which you have been assigned.
