Desktop: Self-Prepared Return: Removing Paid Preparer and Firm Information

In TaxSlayer Pro, if you are going to keypunch an individual tax return for a client who prepared the return themselves for the purposes of e-filing, you will want to mark the return as a self-prepared return.

From the Main Menu of the tax return (Form 1040) select:

  • Mark Return Electronic
  • Other E-File Information
  • Verify the EFIN is correct
  • Select Prepared By to toggle the selection to SELF

Marking the return as Self-Prepared will remove all of the Firm Information and Preparer Information from the return.
