Office IP Whitelist
In Office Setup, if you have checked the box for "Force Verification of IP Address", you will enter in this menu the IP addresses the are allowed to log in to the ProWeb office. This means that you will need to know your and each preparer's local IP address(es) where they log in from. If anyone's IP address changes, then you will need to add the new IP address to this list. Allowing preparers to only log in from an approved IP address adds an extra layer of security to your ProWeb office but entails a burden on you to ensure that the "whitelist" of allowed addresses is up to date.
For best results, preparers should liaise with their ISP to get a fixed IP address. This will ensure they will not be locked out of the ProWeb office due to the address changing.
If you are not sure you can manage this feature, don't check the force verification check box in Office Setup. However, if you do wish to use this feature, before enabling it in Office Setup first gather from all your preparers their local IP addresses, and yours, and add them to this menu.
Note: If you do select to force verification and don't enter IP addresses in this menu, no one, including yourself, will be able to log in to the ProWeb office!
To edit the office IP whitelist, from the Configuration menu:
- Click Office IP Whitelist
- Type in the Local IP address and select +Add
The IP Addresses added to this section will be the only IP Addresses allowed to access the ProWeb office. It is advised to only set this configuration if you have a Static IP Address or a local technician available to assist in the setup.
Question Templates
A question can be set up to be answered in a return for a variety of reasons, e.g., for marketing purposes or to keep preparers on their toes. The questions are shown on-screen in the e-file process at the end of the return.

Tags
Tags help you easily search for returns or leave notes on returns. For example, you could make a tag to indicate a return is missing the W-2, or needs to be amended, or needs additional information. Tags can be added to a tax return from the client list by selecting the tag icon, or they can be added at the end of the return in the Submission step. When a return includes a tag, the tag icon in the client list is colored blue.
To create a return tag, from the Configuration menu:

- Select +Add to add a tag.
- Click Save
See here for more information about return tags.
