Capital Gains Tax Return
At this time, TaxSlayer Pro does not support the Capital Gains Tax Return. It can be completed at the Washington DOR website.
The Capital Gains Tax is a 7% excise tax on the sale or exchange of long-term capital assets such as stocks, bonds, business interests, or other investments and tangible assets. It only applies to individuals, including individual owners in a pass-through or disregarded entity that sells or exchanges long-term capital assets. The tax is applicable only to gains allocated to Washington state.
WA Cares Fund
Payroll deductions for the WA Cares Fund show on an employee W-2 in Box 14 and are generally deductible on federal Schedule A as a state income tax.
