In TaxSlayer Pro, foreign wages and foreign pension are entered in the individual tax return under the Foreign Employer Compensation (FEC) menu. This menu is accessible from both the W-2 Menu and the 1099-R menus.
To enter FEC in the individual income tax return in TaxSlayer Pro, from the Main Menu of the return select:
- Income

Wages, Salaries, Tips (W-2)
or
IRA/Pension Distributions (1099R, RRB-1099R) - Other button

Foreign Employer Compensation - Select New
- An employer ID number is optional. The employer name and address are required.
- Enter the amount of foreign compensation, pension, and taxable pension in the spaces provided.
- When you have finished entering the FEC information, select Exit.
In the Foreign Earned Compensation Menu, you will see a menu item for Taxpayer's FEC Record. If the return's filing status is MFJ and the FEC record is for the spouse, select this line to change it to Spouse's FEC Record.
