Configuring a Custom Discount
In TaxSlayer Pro, if you want to offer a default discount on the total amount due or a percentage of the total amount due on every return that is prepared, from the Quick Menu select:
- Configuration
- Fees / Billing Setup
- Advanced Fee Setup - Select either Default Discount Percent or Default Discount Amount. The discount amount that you enter will be applied to the invoice for each tax return.
Applying a Custom Discount
In a tax return, providing or changing a discount is done from the Receipt Menu after exiting the return. From the Receipt Menu select:
- View / Edit Invoice
- Lock Fees On Invoice - If fees aren't locked, there's no need to select this, otherwise select it and answer NO to the question about locking fees.
- Generate Client Discount
- Do You Wish To Give A Discount? - Select YES, then enter either the Discount Percentage or Discount Dollar Amount that you want applied to the invoice.
