Alaska Permanent Fund Dividend and Alaska Energy Relief Payment
A permanent resident of Alaska may be eligible to receive the annual Permanent Fund Dividend (PFD). To be eligible for a PFD, the taxpayer must have been an Alaska resident for the entire calendar year preceding the date they applied for a dividend and intend to remain an Alaska resident indefinitely at the time they applied. The PFD is reported to the taxpayer on Form 1099-MISC.
Note that the payment reported on Form 1099-MISC may include a portion designated as an energy relief payment. Only the dividend is taxable.
