In TaxSlayer ProWeb, the printed return typically has the SSN printing unmasked, but you can also print the return with the SSN masked.
Note that when you are working in a return, the SSN is unmasked by default when viewing the return via the Preview Return link at the top of any page. Print sets, however, have the option to mask the SSN.
Since a return with the taxpayer ID numbers that have been masked cannot be filed in paper form, we recommend creating a separate print set specifically for printing masked returns. In this way you can have different print sets for different needs, depending on whether or not you wish the taxpayer ID numbers to be masked in a printed copy of the return.
To apply masking to an existing print set, from the ProWeb Welcome page select:
- Configuration
- Print Sets - Select the check box under the "Mask SSN" column for the print set you wish to print masked.
Otherwise, create a new print set, and when finished select its mask check box.
