How to use PrepCheck
Click on the PrepCheck icon, which will open a new internet browser tab. Enter a question in the box, then click the send icon:

Caveats:
- PrepCheck's answer is influenced by how you ask the question, so it's best to ask the question using natural language the same way as you would ask a person. If the answer to a question doesn't seem accurate, click the reference link and read the IRS info to verify it. If the answer doesn't address your question, you may need to reword the question with more or clearer verbiage.
- PrepCheck answers questions that are related to the IRS. There are several reasons why PrepCheck might respond "There is no relevant information available for above question":
- It didn't understand your question, so double-check your question for spelling accuracy, particularly if it relates to a specific form number.
- Your question isn't covered in any IRS form instruction or publication. Perhaps the question relates to another agency of the federal government.
