State estimated payments that were made during the year are entered on the federal side of the return and will automatically total and carry to the appropriate payments line in the state return.
To enter state estimated payments that were made during the tax year, from the main menu of the tax return, (Form 1040), select:
- Payments, Estimates, EIC
- State Estimated Payments
- Select New and enter the state abbreviation of the state to which the estimated payments were paid
- If a prior year refund was applied from last year's return to this year's estimated, enter the amount in the field provided
- Enter the amount of the estimated payment that was made for each quarter in the fields provided
