Reject Code: R0000-905-01
Electronic Filing Identification Number (EFIN) in the Return Header must be listed in the e-File database and in accepted status.
*** Additional Information: XXXXXX ***
This reject code indicates the EFIN used to e-file the return isn’t in the IRS database or that it’s not in an accepted status.
It’s possible your EFIN has been compromised. Or, it's possible your EFIN has been made inactive due to an outside circumstance such as undeliverable mail. If so, an owner, responsible official, or authorized delegated user of your firm can make update your EFIN application at the IRS website.
To see more info regarding the status of your EFIN as well as updating your EFIN application, log in to your IRS e-Services account here. You can also call the IRS E-File Help Desk at 1.866.255.0654.
Once the EFIN has been re-activated by the IRS, all rejected returns can be re-transmitted.
If the IRS assigns you a new EFIN, you'll need to communicate that to our Sales department and also send us a copy of the IRS EFIN Application Summary showing the new EFIN.
