A TaxSlayer Pro Premium subscriber will encounter the message "Remote name could not be resolved" when attempting to send a client's tax return in Paper Cut while having no internet connection.
To verify whether or not your internet connection has dropped, open a web browser and go to any website that you regularly use. Most likely you will see a similar message, e.g., "That site couldn't be reached".
The cause of the outage could be with your internet service provider (ISP), or it could be with your own equipment. If you are using WiFi, check to ensure you are still connected. Check any of the internet-related devices such as the modem or cable box, along with a network switch or router if you have one, as well as cable connections. Also, if you are using firewall software or hardware, ensure it isn't blocking you. If you can't find the problem in your office, contact your ISP to see if the problem is with them.
During the outage you can keep the Paper Cut window open if you'd like, and then once the internet connection is restored click the Send button again.
