If you see the message "Another user is accessing this return" when opening a return in the TaxSlayer Pro desktop program, this means one of two things:
- In a networked office, someone else may have the return open. Check every PC that prepares tax returns to ensure the return is not already open.
- TaxSlayer Pro was force-closed at the end of its last session, perhaps subsequent to a software error or perhaps by the preparer clicking the X at the top right of the program window. This message displays because the program believes the return is still open since it was exited properly, i.e., using the Exit button.
If no one else is working on the return in the office, or if this is a standalone PC, select OK to clear the message and access the return.
Note: When the Desktop program is not closed correctly, the return could potentially be corrupted. Always exit returns by clicking the Exit button, taking you to the Receipt Menu, and never use the X at the top right of the program window to close the tax return and the program at the same time.
