TaxSlayer Pro has partnered with Protection Plus as a service your clients can purchase to assist them in the event of an IRS audit or inquiry. Their services include:
- Access to experienced professionals who can help in the case of an IRS audit or inquiry letter.
- Debt resolution advice.
- Assistance with tax fraud, ensuring all the necessary paperwork gets filed.
- Guaranteeing your work, up to $2,500 in case of errors.
- Assistance in getting denied tax credits.

Enrolling in Protection Plus
Enrolling in Protection Plus is done in your TaxSlayer Pro Account Hub and in one of two ways:
- If you are offering bank products, follow these steps:
- In the bank application, Step 4 "Partner Products", in the Protection Plus section, select Yes "I want to offer this product";
- Read and save a copy of the User Agreement;
- Type your name on the Signature line;
- When finished with the Partner Products screen, click Save or Save and Continue.
- If you aren't offering bank products, within Account Hub click Partners Program on the left side menu, then click View Offer under Protection Plus.
Configuring Protection Plus in TaxSlayer Pro
To activate/deactivate Protection Plus in TaxSlayer Pro, from the Quick Menu select:
- Configuration
- Fees / Billing Setup
- Advanced Fee Setup
- Additional Fees
- Offer Protection Plus - Change to Yes or No as needed. If Yes, you'll be prompted for the default selection in a tax return:
- Select Default to Yes to have Protection Plus automatically added to every return, requiring your client to opt out if they do not wish to purchase the service;
- Select Default to No to have Protection Plus not automatically added to every return, and within the return you will have the option of adding it if the client wishes to purchase the service;
- Select Always Prompt to be prompted the first time exiting the return if the client wishes to purchase Protection Plus.
- Protection Plus Additional Fee - If desired, you can add an additional fee from $10 to $90.
Adding Protection Plus to a Tax Return
Within a tax return, the Protection Plus menu item on the left side of the screen indicates whether or not Protection Plus is being added to the return. To change the current setting, click the Protection Plus menu item.
