TaxSlayer Pro includes two reports you can use to monitor prior year clients who have returned as well as those who haven't yet returned. The reports show individual as well as business clients.
There are several ways to access Client Retention Reports in TaxSlayer Pro:
- At the opening window select, select the icon at the top of the screen:

Call/Thank You List
The Call/Thank You List shows all completed returns for the current year and is generally used to keep track of which customers have been contacted either by phone or mail.
By default, the list shows only clients whose returns were prepared by the preparer who's logged in. To see a list of all clients, click the Show For All Users check box.
In the Call/Thank You List, when a client has been called or mailed, the check box indicating that can be checked in the "Called" or "Sent Card" column.
Click Print to print a report of all the clients in the list. You can also print mailing labels by selecting the Mail Labels button, or export the report to Excel by selecting the Export to Excel button.
Prior Year Client List
The Prior Year Client List shows a list of clients from the previous year that haven't yet returned to have their current year return prepared.
By default, the list shows only clients for the preparer who's logged in. To see a list of all clients, click the Show For All Users check box.
In the Prior Year Client List, when a client has been called, the check box indicating that can be checked in the "Called" column.
As with the Call/Thank You List, the list can be printed in report format or as mailing labels, or it can be exported to Excel.
The Prior Year Client List can also be filtered to show only returns completed between specific dates. Enter the start date and the end date in the spaces provided at the bottom of the list, then select Filter.
