Prior year data will pull forward from the previous year when you enter a client's SSN into the current year’s program. When you enter the SSN into the program, you will be asked 'Do you want to create a new return using the information from last year?' When you answer 'YES' to this question, prior year information will be pulled forward.
If the information is not pulling forward, verify the drive that the program was installed on last year and what the prior year path is set to in the current year program.
From the Main Menu of Taxslayer Pro select:
Configuration > Path Menu > Prior Path:
The prior path should be configured as:
- This path is the same if you are on the File Server/Transmitting Computer or on a Workstation.
If you are still unable to pull the return forward, go back to the prior year software and verify you can access the return. Double check the SSN you are entering for accuracy; go into the return, exit and return to the Main Menu of the prior year program. Try to pull the return forward in the current year program again. If problem persists, you may need to contact Technical Support.
NOTE: xx indicates Prior Program Year. When pulling from the Taxes2Go App, pulling the data forward will disable the App features.
